Nutritionist Position – Join the Heart of Love & Kindness at MADA!

MADA has received a grant to hire a Nutritionist to plan a special project on Nutrition for seniors.
About the Role
The project is to lead a series of bilingual workshops focused on healthy eating habits, specifically designed for vulnerable senior populations. These workshops will address challenges such as limited access to fresh and nutritious food due to poverty, reduced mobility, chewing and swallowing issues, specialized diets, and language or cultural barriers.
Examples of workshops/seminars content:
● Interactive food stations where participants learn to prepare affordable and healthy meals
● Eating healthy on a limited budget
● Long-term food storage tips
● Awareness of local community resources
● Nutrition courses and food guide education
Responsibilities:
● Lead or organise a monthly webinar/seminar/workshop for seniors
● Work with other community organizations and nutritionists/dieticians to develop the project
● Conduct surveys with the target population
● Evaluate each session both quantitatively and qualitatively
● Launch a targeted promotional campaign with the Marketing Department
● Evaluate the project and prepare an impact report
● Help the Food Service Director with meal planning, quality control and other tasks
Qualifications:
● Nutritionist or Dietician or Similar Field
● Fluently bilingual (English & French) with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to prepare and lead workshops for seniors
● Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
● Basic computer skills for scheduling and record-keeping.
● A warm and welcoming personality with a passion for community.

Work Schedule & Salary
● Full-time (35 hours/week), Mon-Th 9-5, Fri 9-12
● Reporting to the Food Service Director

1. Social Media Community Manager
Work with the Marketing Manager to create and develop social media posts and analyse impact (reach and engagement rate) as well as other metrics. Develop and enhance the website. Prepare e-mail communications for clients, volunteers, and donors.
2. Assistant Chef
Assist the chef and kitchen staff in the preparation of 7,000+ weekly meals for people in need.Prepare various dietary meals for our clients such as vegetarian, low sodium, low cholesterol etc.Work on the weekly menu with staff and kitchen manager.
3. Food Bank Worker
Picking and packing orders for the food bank as well as stocking the shelves and unloading pallets from delivery trucks.
