
Position : Kitchen Manager
A community organization is looking to hire a Kitchen Manager
(Sun-Thurs, 8 AM -4 PM) to assist in overlooking the administrative aspects of our food operations. This role ensures that our kitchen runs efficiently, hygienically, and in compliance with all food safety standards.
Additionally, the Kitchen Manager will contribute to the preparation and coordination of monthly nutrition workshops for seniors.
Responsibilities:
Kitchen Administration(80%):
- Develop and manage kitchen/packing schedules and workflows.
- Plan menus in accordance with nutritional guidelines and kosher standards in our production kitchen.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate supply orders to ensure availability of all necessary items.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, stock, and kitchen.

- Oversee hygiene and sanitation protocols, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Coordinate maintenance of kitchen equipment and facilities.
- Assist in onboarding and training kitchen staff and volunteers on safety and operational procedures.
- Liaise with the Food Service Director to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
Workshop Coordination(20%):
- Assist in planning and preparing content for monthly nutrition workshops/classes for seniors.
- Coordinate with the Food Service Director to ensure workshops are engaging and informative.
- Prepare demonstration materials and support event logistics.
Reporting Structure: This role reports directly to the Food Service Director.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food administration, operations, or arelated field.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Familiarity with kosher food standards and health & safety regulations is an asset (training available).
- Proficiency in inventory management and basic record-keeping.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

The Administrative Assistant – Food Service will support the Food Service Director in managing daily administrative tasks to ensure smooth and efficient operations. This role requires a personable, easy-going, and highly organized individual with strong computer skills and a reliable work ethic. The assistant will play a vital role in coordinating food deliveries, scheduling volunteer drivers, and overseeing the dispatch of Mada employee drivers.
● Administrative Support: Assist the Food Service Director with paperwork, scheduling, email correspondence, and report preparation.
● Route Planning: Organize and plan efficient delivery routes for volunteers and employee drivers.
● Volunteer Coordination: Assign volunteers to delivery routes, ensuring coverage and smooth operations.
● Driver Dispatch: Oversee the dispatch of MADA employee drivers, ensuring timely deliveries and clear communication.
● Data Management: Maintain records of deliveries, driver schedules, and volunteer participation.
● Communication: Serve as a point of contact for volunteers and drivers, providing them with instructions and support as needed.
● Problem-Solving: Address any issues or last-minute changes in delivery schedules or driver availability.
● General Office Duties: Handle phone calls, maintain digital records, and assist with other administrative tasks as needed.

The positions are for 8 consecutive weeks, 35 hours a week starting in June and ending before August 30th, 2025
- Work with the Marketing Manager to create and develop social media posts and analyse impact (reach and engagement rate) as well as other metrics.
- Develop and enhance the website.
- Prepare e-mail communications for clients, volunteers, and donors.
- Assist the chef and kitchen staff in the preparation of 7,000+ weekly meals for people in need.
- Prepare various dietary meals for our clients such as vegetarian, low sodium, low cholesterol etc.
-Work on the weekly menu with staff and kitchen manager.
- Picking and packing orders for the food bank as well as stocking the shelves and unloading pallets from delivery trucks
- The Software Programmer will assist MADA’s IT Manager in developing, maintaining, and improving the organization’s digital systems and tools including AI.
- The role includes using AI to write and test code, supporting web and database projects, automating processes, and ensuring data accuracy across platforms.
- The student will also help document systems, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to technology solutions that enhance MADA’s operational efficiency and community impact.
